Northern Powergrid has awarded a contract for flood prevention works worth an estimated £900,000.

The work covers flood defence works at the power company's Bradford BSP, Barnburgh and Folly Hall Substations.

Barnsley-based firm Palmer Construction Ltd has won the contract, one of seven firms in the bidding for the work.
